Pre-surgery stress

Why am I stressing so much about this surgery I’m having today? All they’re gonna do is go in and cut me, without anesthetic… No pain killers, no Tylenol – no nothing. I’m dreading today, even though I had this done before… Pray for my nerves. Sigh…

Don’t Worry, BEE Happy!

Know what? I think me being a photographer is meant to bee. No pun intended – oh – wait – there was.

There’s this site online where I am planning on buying my new portable studio flash unit so I can take good fill-flashed portraits on location, with a battery pack to where I don’t need to plug the light into the wall. It’s awesome.

I’ve been wanting one for years, and this is the first time I’ve been able to afford one. Sunday, I got a call from this lady who’s getting married August 4th. We met about three months ago and discussed me being her photographer for her wedding. I gave her a very nicely discounted price, and she just couldn’t pass up my husband’s and my company, Imagen Photojournalism.

Later the same day, our bride paid in full and booked with me to take her bridal portraits and wedding/reception pictures. Our understanding of why it cost “so much” for being my first “paid wedding” is that I needed to buy a slave strobe (portable flash unit) so I could take better pictures of her on her special day.

Long story short, I got the asking price, she booked, and I’m in the market, all of a sudden, to buy the piece of equipment of my dreams. It’s from a site online called AlienBees.com . They even have pink, yellow, white, lime green, and black covers for the flash unit. I’m going to get the B800. So excited that I can’t even type well… I know – could have fooled you…

Motto of this story: Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow has enough problems of its own. “Don’t worry, BEE happy!”

Endocrinologist Appointment

So I’ve been going through this insulin resistance issue… I have an appointment with my new Endocrinologist finally. Here’s the kicker: my appointment is in the middle of October, and this is the middle of July right now. That’s three months away. You’d think they’d want to get new patients in right away, but NO…

The reason I’m going to this doctor is that his office is the only one that actually answers the phone calls I’ve been making, so I figured I’d better schedule with him at least. Why so far away? Heck if I know!

Hopefully he’ll be able to get this insulin resistance thing under control before it becomes type 2 diabetes… I wish they’d just bump me up a few months or so. Meanwhile, I guess I can ask my other doctor for a prescription for Glucophage to get me started. I’m on the cancellation list until then. Ugh!

Gardening at nighttime is the best – NOT!

You know what I noticed? When you get in the mood to work, you already did all of your work, and all you have to do now is play…

Thinking about bills, my hobbies, and my hubby right now… And about how much I need to clean up the house.

And about how my back and legs hurt from planting 7 rose bushes in our front yard at 9pm last night by the light of a shop light rather than by the light of the silvery moon… Or daylight even. What kind of wackos plant bushes at night? It must have looked to passers-by that we were digging graves or digging our way to China.

But I digress… C’est la vie…
